![]() New Leaf Alternative is a community-based program that offers DIR and DFB placements. Our families are diverse in culture (Hispanic, African American, Caucasian, Asian, Pacific Islander, etc.) offering the best opportunity to meet the needs of DCFS's diverse population. Through the "practice model" we can begin to impact each life for change. New Leaf also provides DIR/YIR and DFB/YFB, therapeutic services (YFC) and (YGT), 24 hour supervision (YIS), and Medicaid Assessments (MCA) and Medication Management. New Leaf Alternative opened its doors on September 15, 1995. It has worked successfully with the Division of Youth Correction and its clientele. NLA is a small agency with 30 families, well trained, and eager to serve the children and its community. New Leaf's Director: Sione Tavake , has worked as an Intake officer with the 3rd District Juvenile Court and as a case manager with the Division of Youth Corrections. His experience and knowledge brings great insight to New Leaf and the families it serves. We look forward to working with you
